A set containing a mortar and a pestle to be used in laboratory grinding. Made out of natural agate, it is suitable for mixing inorganic material.

Fine grinding requires fine tools to do it. Sets of agate mortars and pestles are just that the fine tools to do the fine grinding. Being operated manually, these mortars allow the user more control when it comes to grinding, as well as more precision and security when it comes to the ground material. This is definitely the oldest tool that can be found in any laboratory or a kitchen. No other device has been used for such a long time as a mortar and a pestle.
Since it cannot contaminate the ground material, the agate is widely used for making mortars. It is perfect to be used when grinding inorganic materials, but is also quite useful when preparing food.

These sets of mortars and pestles are used widely and have a few applications. Their most frequent use is for scientific purposes, to grind the materials that are to be experimented upon. They are also widely used in kitchens all around the world, as they offer fine grinding with the least chance of food contamination.

The mortars and pestles come with free shipping throughout the United States.

Very pleased with the agate Mortar and pestle that I purchased through Joyfay. I used these when I was in college working in an X-ray diffraction lab and am pleased that the one I received is of the same quality. A surprisingly hard to get item; so I am pleased to get one of high quality.
